I use AOL and no it's never worked...I've tried to re download and it also still say's the same...
I've also talked to several tech help people and they can't figure it out either.
I have windows XP 2 edition... Which I have upgraded to and it still dosen't work.
I'm wondering, I got this computer from Fords when they supplied there employees with free computers & people pc. could that be the problem? Because
I could never get People Pc to work so I went to AoL and have been here every since

When you are online, try the following (always emit the quotes):
1. Go to Start>Run>type in "cmd">a black box should pop up. In this box type "ping yahoo.com" If this displays the results of "reply from" four times, you either have a problem with Internet Explorer 7 or an Antivirus or firewall. If this displays "request timed out" go to step 2.
2. Follow the steps above to get to the black box again. Type "ping 64.233.167.99". If this displays the results of "reply from" and the top test didn't go to step 3. If this test comes back with "request timed out" you aren't really connected to the internet
3. In the black box type in "ipconfig /flushdns" and try the internet again. If this doesn't work you may need to contact AOL.
4. If these steps can't get you online there are a couple different ways that you can figure out what is wrong. If you still can't get online post your test results in the next question and it will be easier to tell where the probelm is coming from.
