re-dismantle late type 2-stroke crankshaft- Victa?

thanks John &William for your reply, but the later type shaft is a one piece forging & the crank pin-journal is on the outside on the upper side. It appears to thread into the crank throw,is it left or right hand threaded? It has a head with two flat sides, but I can not move it. if you can not remove the pin the conrod can not be removed to allow the shaft to come out of the case.It appears that it is meant to be discarded & THE WHOLE ENGINE REPLACED ??? " yuck".

Its william and having just dismantled my first victa i can now see what you mean as regards the crank. Sorry for the duff information i gave you but its the first time i have seen anything like it in my life. Glad you got sorted anyway

the late modle victa engines are very easy to rebuild there are two types of crank pins one with two flat sides and one with four pin holes ,you need a tool to remove and a rattle gun but i have removed them before with a punch, they are all right hand thread. if you leave the head on and put some rope in the spark plug hole that will stop the piston from moving while you hit the crank pin note;when you put it back together the pins on the piston for the ring location faces toward the inlet.there are two main bearings the bottom one having a seal if you are replacing them you need a press, but you need the disc boss of first put a hammer on one side of the boss and hit the other side with a hammer that will shock the boss off the flywheel, best of luck jason. w.
