Baby Lock #1506 won't wind bobbins?

Hi Angela,

This is not really answering your question - but maybe you can help. I have a 1506 that was handed to me and I am trying to find a manual. I am a novice learning to sew and don't have the first clue how to use it. I have searched the web and even contacted BL but got very little help.

If you could copy it or scan it for me I would send you the postage. A lot to ask I know!

It works!!!!! ;o) Once I finally remembered to buy WD-40, dropped some in there, but it wouldn't turn. So I tried the drill bit idea and it worked like a charm. (It was actually a Phillips head screwdriver bit.)

I have checked the Babylock site and if your machine is similar to the Denim Pro or design Pro with the winder on the top and it will not wind bobbins, these are the most common problems.
The winder rubber has worn down on one side causing a flat spot which means at that at a given point the rubber does not touch the balance wheel to turn.
The winder does not turn at all which means it is probably seized due to lack of oil, if this is the case I would suggest a few drops of WD40 and let it run down the top of the winder spindle, see if the actual winder turns by hand, if you cannot possible turn the winder by hand then it is seized well and truly and you will either need to take the top or back off the machine to get to it, or, very carefully you can put a drill on top of the spindle at a slow speed after putting a few drops of oil on it and free it off, let me know how you get on.

I don't know much else about it. I tried looking at older models on their website and the most similar is the Denim Pro model #BL16. It's a pretty basic machine, without all the bells and whistles. (Except for the "Denim Buster" lever) The only identifying information I can find is what I posted before.
