I do know that if the battery voltage falls below 12.5 volts the alarm will sound. Just check the voltage. By the way, if it falls much lower than this all sorts of weird things start to happen such as light on when you start the car and indicators not working.
This is all the to the GEM unit on the car. It looks after the electrical system to reduce power consumption when the car is not running.

I hope it works for me. I haven't got a clue about cars, but I am sick of mine constantly telling me the bonnet is open when it isn't and the alarm going off every 20 mins.
I have pulled the plug under the lock out and covered it and kept it secure. I have also unplugged something that was under/behind the plastic grill. I am thinking this is my outside temp thermometer as it no longer is displaying the temp on the display.
Also, even though I have disconnected the wires under the lock the display is still telling me the bonnet is open!! WTF?!?!?

In my case, it was the bonnet sensor that was triggering off the alarm. Apparently, the sensor is known to break easily or to be affected by humidity. I disabled the sensor altogether, without disabling the alarm for the rest of the car.
The sensor is right next to the bonnet lock. It has one cable (with two thin wires) connecting it to the alarm (under the lock). Simply unplug the cable (pull the plastic connector) and then use a clip or other metal wire to link the two wires directly in the connector. This way, the faulty sensor is bypassed (tape it after for insulation).
This means that your bonnet is not alarmed, but at least you won't have the horn and the lights going off every so often (annoying to everybody and a good way to get your battery flat).

Thanks guys, I had the same problem, fixed it for me as well. I think I can live without the alarm protecting the engine bay, very annoying when you lift the bonnet without unlocking the car!

Just disconnect the switch on the bonnet catch in the short term. You will need to remove the top plastic panel and the grill to get at the harness. This means that any one opening the bonnet wont trigger the alarm, but the rest of the car is still covered. Then when time (and finances allow) get a new one fitted. Dont forget to tape up the connector...

Check the bonnet sensor switch, which sits right next to the bonnet latch. The trigger is a metal cylinder. I had a similar annoying problem, disabling and re-positioning the switch fixed the problem
