I've just bought a second hand rover 45, recently when I had to break hard, the srs light on the dashboard lit up ( warning light for airbags). The light is still on every time I start the car and stays on all the time. I've spoken to the garage I bought it from, and he says its a common fault with rovers and is only a sensor and will probably go out in time. Is he right as I don't want the airbag to go off while I'm driving.
I ALSO HAD THE SAME PROBLEM . IT IS A LOOSE CONNECTOR UNDER ONE OR BOTH SEATS. WHEN YOU ADJUST YOUR SEATS THE WARNING LIGHT MAY GO ON OR OFF. TELL YOUR MECHANIC HE WILL NO WHAT TO DO.ALSO BE CAREFULL WITH THE VAC.
I also had this problem with my 45. I bought the car 3 years ago and at the first MOT I put it in for I was also told not to worry about it. At the most recent MOT I used a different mechanic and when I picked the car up the problem is gone. No idea what he did but I dont think you have to worry.
Cheers
Hi,
Mine has been on now for 3 years, "They" say its a loose connector under the drivers seat. Don't go poking about plenty of wires under there that control the air bags etc. Some people say you can solder the fault,I have left mine well alone, after being assured by a former Rover dealer not to worry.
Cheers,
Philip
