Thanks Roy - the leak is on the connection of the flexi washer h.w.supply pipe plastic isolation valve where the washer valve is fitted to the rigid supply pipe - tried tightening but to no avail - requires disconnecting to allow new washer isolation valve or ptfe tape attempt.
Brand new boiler - baxi combi duo-tec - fitted last week - didnt want to disturb it.
Looked for hws isolation valve - nothing near new boiler. Do I turn off boiler electrics - turning all thermo settings to off and close the cold water supply valve and allow the water to naturally drain from this joint and all hot water taps - when empty - fix joint - turn water back on - open hot water taps to refill system then put boiler stats back to their settings and turn on boiler OR would i have to have the boiler recomissioned
regards and thanks for the advice but please feel free to advise on above

Leak repair depends on type of connection.
Your WM should be connected via flexi plastic hose to an appliance service valve. The usual cause of leaks is the rubber washer perishing and cracking, or the connection just becoming loose due to vibration.
If loose, just tighten the plastic connection nut by hand. If this doesn't work, turn off appliance valve (quarter turn), unscrew plastic nut, check washer and replace.
If leak is from where appliance valve is fitted to rigid supply pipe (plastic or copper), then you will need to tighten metal compression nut to achieve a better seal. You will need a couple of adjustabe spanners for this.
You will only need to shut off the HW supply if the WM is connected without an isolating valve or if tightening compression joint does not work. To get a better seal on the comp joint you may need to undo, wrap a couple of layers of PTFE tape around the copper olive and reassemble. Properly installed boiler should have appropriate gate valves allow shutting off hot water. Before opening joints on HW system, turn boiler off, as pressure loss in system causes it to fire up, just like when you turn on the tap.
