I would really appreciate some advice. I recently put an old/scratched CD in my laptops disc drive and it got stuck. I did manage to get it out. However, now when ever I try to play a brand new music CD or DVD there is sound, but it is 'jerky', distorted and scratchy (sorry couldn’t find a better term). The audio sounds like an echo and skips, some times the image (film) skips as well. It also gets stuck in the drive and I have to resort to the paper clip trick. I never had this problem until I put the old CD in it. It’s only with discs, downloaded music works fine.
I tried cleaning the lens with my DVD player disc cleaner and I checked the volume settings too but it hasn't helped.
I’ve tried playing the films on other programmes like DivX/Media Player the same thing happens.
Any suggestions? Thank you for your time
