How do you rebuild(take apart) a hydraulic cylinder?
I have a 1984 john deere 410b turbo backhoe, I snapped the rod to the right stabilizer. The rest of the rod is inside the cylinder. I took the bottom ring off, but cannot figure out how to take it apart to get the rod out and rebuild it. Please help. Thanks
With the gland removed & the open end of the cylinder downwards, tap the whole cylinder on a piece of hardwood, Careful not to damage any threads! as the cylinder comes to a sudden halt on the wood, the remainder of the piston asy will slide out... Ded easy eh..
