how can I fix my wards sewing machine Model #1909?I couldn't get the bobbin thread tension right. It kept
snarling up on the bottom and jamming, so thought I should clean the bobbin holder. Got it out and cleaned it but now can't get it back together. Somebody help?

Hello Emelie,
I take it that you have dropped the gate down and taken out the hook, that is the half moon shape, make sure the needle is at the top, you should be able to pop the hook back in very easily, close the gate, top tension should be about 4 or 5, the thread should pull through the bobbin case so there is slight resistence, if it is too tight slacken the large screw on the bobbin case anti clockwise about a quarter of a turn and test sew, keep adjusting until you get it right, make sure the bobbin turns in the bobbin case anti clockwise as you look at it.
