Briggs andStratton 3.5hp hunts like hell?Hi i have a Briggs and Stratton 3.5hp push motor mower,i have had it for about 10 years and it has never been any trouble till now,for some reason it has just started ticking over very slow and then starts to hunt (rev up and down by its self). I am by no means an expert on anything let alone mowers nor am thick but i carnt seem to find any air screws. Are they factory set and is it a new carb job. Any help please

i had similar problem, and was advised by a geeky small engine whizz kid that the diaphragm is a common item to break down after extended use on these engines. i managed to swap mine under guarantee at homebase, but remembered what the kid said, which i;m surte is your problem

Is it a 'carb on the tank' engine?
If so, at 10 years old, it's due a new diaphragm! Costs pennies and takes 20 mins to fit, so not the end of the world if it doesn't fix it (but I'd bet £10 it will!).
