The m.o.t. is due on my car next month, on the last m.o.t. I had an advisory note saying following:- outer front cv joint gaiter both sides deteriorated.
rear trailing arm rubber bushes both sides deteriorated ,but not resulting in excessive movement. I've just spent over £550 changing head gasket and radiator (now cash is very tight) The quote I had from the garage was £30 for each front gaiter, £45 for each trailing arm rubber bush. Total £150 .. I've been told by the mechanic that it is possible that they have not got any worse since last year as I 've only done 3500 miles.Does anybody else think that I may be lucky or should I try to find the money to get them done this year, which would then mean if there was different problems then I wouldn't be able to do them.. Any help and advice please..
if the guy who did mot last year says that, then he probably wont be too harsh on those items. you could get a pre mot done before mot runs out, and get his opinion on whats too far gone to pass. this gives you a bit of time to save up for the obvious fail points on your car. although remember its what state the car is in on mot day is what passes or fails.
