Pilot light is on but when using taps no hot water is coming through. Also heating will not work.
Usually when using the programmer to switch heating to constant I always hear something fire up. Now I hear nothing Also a red light on the programmer usually indicates constant has been chosen but in the instance it no longer does :(
Not an answer but a BIG THANK YOU to Carefree. Three days of trying to track down why my boiler would not run, I discovered this answer. I knew there had to be some sort of re-set but finding it !!!!!!! Air in the system after a rad was removed to allow a wall to be plastered started the most horrendous banging it must have tripped the overheat trip.
Many thanks again.
Most likely option is that the overheat safety thermostat has activated.
It is reset inside the boiler on the right side (if memory serves) of the control box. This would be consistent with no apparent power to the programmer also, it was often powered up through the boiler terminals 3 & 4.
If it has activated, investigation into why will be necessary, the most likely culprits would be the pump sticking, or the ntc has gone out of range.
