How can I fix my Potterton Netaheat Electronic Boiler (10-16)?I have just had a new kitchen fitted which involved some plumbing alterations to reposition the faucets/taps. A lot of the hot water was lost due to the cock not shutting it off fully (cold water shut off OK)
Since above the boiler fires up for about 1 - 2 minutes then shuts down. If I wait a few minutes switch on again the same thing happens.
A friend has suggested an air lock could be the possible cause. Is this possible? Ifso, how do I bleed it?
Could there be any other cause?

Possibly an air lock - But are you getting hot water out of your taps, just that it's cold? Or does the tap water fail to flow at all...
Firstly, try your heating and make sure that the boiler fires for a prolonged period to ensure there is not a fault with the appliance itself. Ensure everything is bled, including the pump and any air-legs you may have in the airing cupboard...
Turn the appliance on and make sure the top pipe to the cylinder gets hot and the lower pipe on the cylinder, gets warm... Thus showing that hot water from the boiler is flowing and loosing it's heat into the cylinder (As it should)... If all is well there, then I would suggest an appliance fault, otherwise it's a flow fault and possibly air-locked... Go to the highest point on the cylinder pipework and crack a nut to allow air to escape.
If there is no water flowing from your taps; the easiest way to clear an airlock is to use a mixing tap that is "mains" connected (Normally the kitchen sink or bath)... Open up a single tap somewhere in the house to relieve excessive pressure that you will be creating... Then cover the end of the mixing tap with your hand, open up the mains; holding the pressure back with your hand... Then open up the hot water side, so that the mains water will be directed up the hot water pipe, filling the waterway and pushing any airlocks out of the pipework.
