blower/heater?I have a rover 45 (y reg) with air con. 2 weeks ago the blower stopped working on numbers 1 + 2 , took it to garage and was told resistor broken, changed the resistor , blower worked well on all settings for about 4 days then 1+2 failed again, the garage tested the resistor which had gone again, and was told it was probably faulty resistor. The blower still worked on 3+4 settings. Then yesterday after not using the car for 5 days while waiting for a new resistor, When I started the car the blower was not working on any setting. Is it possible the motot may have seized due to not being used or could it be something else.
Anyhow the new resistor pack has now arrived but I'm worried if I just change it , it won't work and may break that resistor again.
Anybody any ideas what the problem could be and the best thing to do, as with winter coming in I need the blower to de-mist the windscreen.
Any help appreciated , thanks
P.S. If the blower is broken, is a new one expensive and how hard is it to change.
Thanks again

Check the blower motor to see if it turns freely! if it is a little stiff or seized it could be causing the resistor pack to burn out!
