feeding fabric through my Jones 350 electric sewing machine?

I have recently inherited a Jones 350 full zig zag electric sewing machine but have no manual. It doesn't seem to 'grab' the fabric underneath and feed it along - the 'teeth' through the footplate seem too low. Otherwise it appears to be functioning correctly. Does it have a means to raise the teeth anywhere? (my old Alba used to have but I can't see one on the Jones). Or as it something more serious? Does anyone have a manual? Many thanks

Hello Caggs,
Checked the model, there is no drop feed on your machine and you may find the pressure dial inside the faceplate, if you need to know how to use it let me know.

Hello Caggs,
First of all take the throat plate off to make sure you do not have a build up of oily dirt that may have settled along the sides of the teeth, make sure you put the throat plate back on properly, with the throat plate on turn the machine by hand until the teeth are at their highest point, they should just be above the throat plate, if there is a drop feed mechanism there is usually a dial below the stitch length dial or lever, if not there may be a lever near the teeth, if not then there is no drop feed mechanism, make sure you have enough pressure on the presser foot, put some fabric underneath the foot, lower the foot and you should not be able to pull it to the back, if you can then adjust the pressure by the dial or chrome button on top of the machine in line with the presser foot, give it a go, any problems e-mail me, in the meantime I will try and local where you can get a book.
